Woodworking Shops in Ecuador
Using Local Wood is just common sense
Small woodworking shops were scattered everywhere we travelled in Ecuador

Locally sawn planks are piled for air drying and storage - note the chain saw marks - I love that!

This shop has a planer, table saw, electric hand sander, wood drill and hand tools
This is the only solar lumber drier we saw

This passive solar dyring shed is a big improvement over air drying lumber outside in the rainforest

The lumber is protected from rain and sun, but is really just being air dried
Lumber from most species is quite stable and stays pretty flat as it dries

This woodworker's inventory is in the best condition of all the shops we visited

The main products here were doors and cabinets
The quality of the workmanship was very high

A finished door and siding from the shop across the road Looks like someone else likes mixed species!

This woodworker in another shop was making beautiful beds
